We want to celebrate the 700+ students who used the Clothes Closet by getting more than 700 shares on social media so we can raise $7000 – to improve and expand the UCC Clothes Closet.
What began as a pilot project has become one of the University Career Center’s (UCC) greatest successes.
Since September 2016, the UCC Clothes Closet has supported over 700 students “dressing for success” — and building their professional brand as they prepared to engage in a variety of recruiting settings.
The Clothes Closet provides students with up to three free articles of professional clothing; offers personalized feedback and support from a UCC staff member, and the opportunity to take free professional headshots for their LinkedIn profiles.
To continue this service, the UCC is launching a crowdsourcing campaign throughout the month of May. Funds raised will be used to expand next year’s inventory, fill gaps for some of the more popular items/sizes, and extend staffing for increased “shopping appointments”.
The UCC staff can use your help in spreading the word on your social media channels to help broaden our reach.
Contributions of any gifts will allow students to feel confident in their appearance as they “tell their story” in new professional settings.
